Winter Schedule of Events 2019
WELCOMING THE STRANGER 2:00 pm Sunday February 10
Shushan United Presbyterian
Come hear Maxine Stein of Jewish Family Services as she leads a discussion on the global refugee crisis. She will focus specifically on identifying the difference between refugees and asylum seekers; particularly with regard to documentation. This event will take place at the Shushan United Presbyterian Church on Railroad St in Shushan.
GOOD NEIGHBORS 3:30-5:00 pm Sunday February 17
Good Neighbors is almost one year old. We are a network of friends and neighbors living in and around Cambridge who want to share time and resources. We want to weave together the fabric of our community through service and friendship. We welcome and support farm workers in our area through help with transportation, translation and tutoring. Come hear about the work we’ve done and join us in building new friendships.
BETTER ANGELS 10:00-11:30 am Saturday February 23
Launched in 2016, Better Angels is a bipartisan citizen’s movement to unify our divided nation. By bringing red and blue Americans together into a working alliance, we’re building new ways to talk to one another, participate together in public life, and influence the direction of the nation. Come, learn about Better Angels and then sign up for a Workshop.
CRAFT CLOSET CLEAN OUT DAY 9:00 am-1:00 pm Saturday March 2
Remember all those great ideas for crafts, all those sales you couldn’t pass by, those crafts that you finally admit you’ll never get back to? Donate the fabric, paint, wood, embroidery floss, to Brieman Building the week of February 24-March 1. Then come and buy materials you will use. All donations will go toward the renovation of the Commercial Kitchen in Brieman Building.
